Inside the tool workspace
Local tools process text, numbers, code, images, selected files and generated values on your device. They do not automatically upload these inputs or results to DevToolsy. Selecting a file lets the page read that file, not other files on your device. API Request Tester is different: when you select Send, your browser sends the configured URL, headers, credentials and body to the selected endpoint, subject to your settings and browser policies. It does not use a DevToolsy proxy or save request history.
Hashing, passwords and encryption
Hashing & Security processes text, selected file bytes, HMAC keys, passwords and encryption data only in local browser Workers. Files are read in chunks; inputs and results are not sent to DevToolsy or placed in URLs or history. Copy and Download create device-side copies. Clear and leaving a page are not guarantees of secure memory erasure.
Local design and file processing
Frontend & Design converts colors, checks contrast, generates CSS styles and transforms CSS or HTML markup. Images & Files processes selected files locally for image conversion, compression, resizing, Base64 encoding, SVG optimization, QR creation and file inspection. No files are uploaded. Generated code, SVG and files should be reviewed before use; optimization is not sanitization and file signatures are not security checks.
The settings we remember
DevToolsy uses browser local storage for a small set of preferences. It does not use that storage to save documents or build a history of the data you process. The preferences are:
- Appearance: light, dark, or follow the system.
- JSON indentation: the number of spaces or tabs.
- Editor display: whether long lines wrap.
Editing, clearing, and leaving a tool
Editor history and the Undo clear feature can keep earlier text in memory while the page is open. Clear empties the visible input; it is not a secure-erasure operation. A different tool opens its own workspace. Browser session restoration, extensions, and device-level storage operate independently of DevToolsy. You can remove saved preferences through your browser's site-data controls.
When you copy or download
Copy places the selected text or result on your clipboard when you choose it. Download creates a file through your browser. These copies may remain on your device and are managed by your operating system or browser. DevToolsy does not host your processed documents. Footer sharing sends a page link, not a document or result.
Requests needed to load the website
Loading the website sends technical information to our hosting and security infrastructure, including your IP address, requested URL, browser information, request time and response status. These records support delivery, fault diagnosis and abuse prevention. Retention depends on server log rotation and provider settings, and on the need to investigate incidents or meet legal obligations. This is separate from local tool processing. Do not put private data or credentials into page URLs, which may appear in infrastructure logs.
Cookies and outside services
DevToolsy currently has no account system, advertising or externally hosted fonts. Preferences use local storage. Infrastructure providers may use necessary cookies according to their settings. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. The application does not perform cross-site advertising tracking and does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track signals. External links and API destinations have their own privacy practices.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site visits and usage. Google's tag collects page URLs, titles, referrers, interaction and browser/device information, and may use cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not add tool text, selected file contents, credentials or results to analytics events. Do not put private data in page URLs. You can limit analytics using browser cookie controls or blockers. Google processes these data according to its policies and the Analytics property's settings.

- You control saved browser preferences and downloaded files. We cannot access, recover or remotely erase tool data that stayed on your device.
Changes to this notice
This policy describes our current data practices. We will update it when those practices change, including changes to analytics, advertising or cloud features. The revision date identifies the current version; do not assume a future feature has the same data flow as today's local tools.
